Sweatshop writer Sara Saleh releases debut novel
Sweatshop writer and editor, Sara Saleh, has released her debut novel, Songs for the Dead and the Living, published by Affirm Press.
Songs for the Dead and the Living is an intergenerational novel following a Palestinian family that ends up in Western Sydney. This extraordinary novel offers a breathtaking portrait of the fragilities and flaws of family in the wake of war - creating a deeply poetic, urgent and necessary story about the Palestinian diaspora.
This is another significant milestone of the inaugural Affirm Press Mentorship for Sweatshop Writers, following Funny Ethnics by Shirley Le.
