Karen Wyld
Karen Wyld is an author and freelance writer living on the coast south of Adelaide. Karen's second novel Where the Fruit Falls was published by UWA Publishing, after being awarded the 2020 Dorothy Hewitt Award for an Unpublished Manuscript. It was long-listed in 2021 Australian Book Industry Awards and shortlisted in 2021 Victorian Premier’s Literary Award for Indigenous Writing. Heroes, rebels and innovators: Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people from History, a non-fiction book for children, was published by Hachette in 2021. In 2022, it was an Honour Book in the Children's Book Council of Australia Awards, shortlisted for Australian Booksellers Association Booksellers’ Book of the Year Awards, and long-listed in Australian Book Industry Award. Karen’s short stories and narrative nonfiction feature online and in journals such as Meanjin and Borderlands.
