Luana Sanders

Luana Sanders is a proud descendant of the Gooreng Gooreng peoples, the Munanjhalli peoples, and Ghungalu peoples, with strong ancestral ties to Tanna Island in Vanuatu through her maternal grandmother. She is a sister, aunt, mother, and grandmother, deeply connected to her family and community.

Luana works in First Nations engagement within the renewable energy sector, where she builds relationships with traditional owners across the country fostering cultural respect. In addition to her professional role, Luana sits on the board of Sisters Inside, a grassroots organization advocating for the rights of incarcerated women. Residing in Meejian, Luana cherishes time spent with her mob. Inspired by her mother, Aunty Valda Coolwell, Luana discovered a love for writing that continues to fuel her creative passions.
