Natalia Figueroa Barroso

Natalia Figueroa Barroso is a Uruguayan-Australian writer from Penrith. She has degrees in Communication and Media from the University of Technology (Sydney). Natalia’s poem, “Anew”, was shortlisted for the 2015 Lane Cove Literary Award and her screenplay, “Roots”, was selected for a 2018 Breakthrough Emerging Screenwriter Development (CuriousWorks). Natalia was also longlisted for the 2021 SBS Emerging Writers Competition, which resulted in the collection Between Two Worlds (Hardie Grant Books, 2022). She is a volunteer Editorial Assistant for Aster(ix) Journal. Natalia is currently working on her debut novel.
