Steve MinOn was an award-winning advertising copywriter and a restauranteur before becoming a writer of fiction. He grew up in North Queensland and now lives on Turrbal land. His debut novel, First Name Second Name (UQP 2025) won the Glendower Award for an Emerging Queensland writer at the 2023 Queensland Literary Awards. He has written about his mixed-race ancestral history and his identity for SBS Voices, Mamamia and various anthologies.
